Thanks for Visiting Gosiger During IMTS 2012!
The 2012 edition of the International Machine Tool Show (IMTS) was an unmitigated success with over 100,000 manufacturing professionals in attendance. Thanks to all who kept us busy in the Gosiger and Okuma booths. Clearly, manufacturers came looking for more and better ways to increase productivity and profitability – and found what they were looking for.
We had a great deal of interest in Gosiger Automation custom approaches that involve robotics and pallet-based solutions. Not only were visitors interested in loading and unloading parts more efficiently, they were also curious about how Gosiger automation systems can be configured to distinguish good parts from bad, perform force sensing operations and use quick change End Of Arm Tooling (EOAT) to streamline production.
For some customers, the emphasis was on Gosiger’s line of specialty products for high-volume applications, and the iFP Kleen Power vacuum parts washers. These unique systems clean parts in a sealed chamber using hydrocarbons or modified alcohol-based solutions that are internally recycled through a distillation process, so the environment is protected and users save money by recapturing and reusing the cleaning solutions.
There was also a lot of interest in the new Okuma machines introduced at the show, especially the MU-10000H, the largest Okuma 5-axis, horizontal, high-speed machining center. This new 5-axis CNC machine has a maximum work piece weight capacity of 5,500 pounds and can accommodate a work piece up to 59.05” in diameter by 44.29” high.
